Problem loading Eboot of games on psp

Well, I've upgraded to Dark Alex's 3.10 firmware (and many thanks to all on this site who have contributed all of the information I found necessary to do so), and have a good size folder of games of all formats, isos, csos, eboots... Now, eboots have worked fine for me up until this week. I don't know what settings I may have changed, but now when I load an eboot, even previously working ones, my psp just locks up at the background screen (almost as if it's stuck transitioning from the psp menu to the eboot file itself).

It still runs isos and csos with perfection, and my snes emulator works fine as well. I know I'm placing things in the right folder, they're being placed in my ms:\PSP\GAME\FOLDER OF EBOOT\EBOOT

Any help on what I may have screwed up would be much appreciated, until then I'm gonna keep messing with my settings to see if I can fix it...

I may have, I know I tried to get my psp to play a custom sound on startup, but I never could get it to work... is there a place I can download the original files to replace what I have now?

maybe check qj.net ... but yeah modifying the startup (opening_plugin.rco) disables the ability to play psx games. I believe theres a way around this though by using popstation or something like that (not 100% sure on the name since i havent bothered to play psx games on my psp)

i have the same problem and im guessing it is that file as i have custom background and icons so i probably changed that. so my question is where can i get a regular copy of that file or will i have to re-install the FW

I tried using this program to restore the original opening_plugin.rco

but it's still not loading my psx games... i'll keep trying to find the right file... gotta be here somewhere.

Alright, I fixed my problem, and if possible we should see about stickying this for people who screw up like I did...

If you're running 3.10 OE-A like I am (Dark Alex is freakin awesome btw)

It will walk you through recovering your OS without downgrading and reinstalling. The walkthrough is thorough, and doesn't take too long. Previously certain psp-psx games that weren't working are now, so I'm guessing I fixed it pretty good. Just did a test on a few games I have made boot files for (yes, I own an extensive video game collection, so they're not pirated copies... what can I say, grew up on the psx/ps2 and dig alot of the oldschool rpgs and such).

So if you screw up your opening_plugin.rco and have problems running your eboots, give this a try. Again for Dark Alex's 3.10 OE-A firmware.

I know what it might be- i had this problem myself try takeing the umd out.
If that didnt work then it might be your nodule folder did you add any new prx s?
