Sorry for this question but my friend brought up a strange point, because he just got his wiikey installed today and asked the guy "if i update my wii, wii nintendo's updates, like internet connection or w/e, can nintendo track him though isp, for using a back-up"

replied "i heard xbox internet game play, people with mod chips wernt able to go and play online" <--no relation (LOL)

I'm confused, can they track you, from what i read in this forum for about an hr -_-" that the chip works to play backups, and has nothing to do with the system itself..its just like in there..(correct)??
basically, the nintendo wii, functions as a normal wii and the chip is there to allow playing back-ups..and the nessaceary updates have no effect on the system??

Sorry for this long BS, LOL still im lost!! i read and read, other forums as well, it's unknown!!!
