Hi
Theoretical question for ya's.
I live in a Ch*rus MMDS area (no other providers available), so, in theory all I'd need to get all the channels available, are a dreambox 500t, the right image file for my area, and an MMDS antenna on the roof pointed in the right direction. ???
Does this make sense to anyone ?? or is my head going around in the wrong direction ??
Thanks.

You need a power inserter for the downconverter in the mmds aerial and a UK modded image for DM500 boxes for your 500t and a terrestrial.xml for the channel scan.

Maybe you can buy a old chorus mmds aerial at a garage sale. For the power inserter I don't know any source in Ireland.
The easiest solution is to subscribe to the basic package.

The power inserter has to deliver 200 mA for a original antenna. The standard power inserters for mast amps can deliver only 100 mA. Maybe your item has a short life.

you..
the easiest way is just to use somebodys flash..
connect her up get the ip and flash and watch free tv...
or
get the basic image
add the keys and roms
add the cams
set up the autocam (optional)
you'll find that the majority of the latest 500t models have the phillips tuner.. this has a flat spot on 266mhz
so depending on your area you may be missing
bbc1,2,ch4,utv,.......
or
setanta1,channels6,......
hope that's helped.

I bought a 500T this week and came across the problem that I cannot get BBC1 & 2, Channel 4 UTV etc when I do autoscan. Is there anything I can do to get these channels on this decoder.

any downconverterter that will move the channels you watch most off 266mhz.
better still.. move all transponders up a few hundred mhz and you'll have everything..
