hi,
i gonna buy a wii with a wiikey.......can any1 plz explain all the disadvantages and problems of wiikey......

and other questions..

1)wot is the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R???

2)whot is firmware and wot are its effects on the games and wiiey????

just buy DVD-R, they always worked for me, DVD+R i have a 50% success rate
firmware is the program on the chip( i think) to let you play backups

no disadvantages yet, but it may get bricked by nintendo, because it does not use a switch to upgrade, so that may be a future problem

firmware is binary code embedded on the chip that tells the DVD drive what to read and what not to read. The mod chip (wiikey) is just a firmware bypass mechanism that tells the wii dvd drive to read a burnt disc just like a factory pressed disc. As the company (wiikey) comes out with newer firmware you'll be able to flash the chip to allow more functionality
