u should be able to save after disk 1(it asks u to), then quit (by pressing HOME, quit game), and then start disk 2 and load the game from disk 1.
if u can't find ur save game while in disk 2, then i'm sorry to say u converting them with different 'ids' so disk 2 does not look in the same save folder as disk 1, so u can' load ur game

i mean by converting from the original PS1 game file, like the ISO or IMG file u get by ripping the game from the CD. there are programs out there, generally called popstaion, and theres a guide in my sig if u want to try it...i actually am not sure if my guide will work because i've never tested switching CD's myself
