i recently bought a pioneer dvr-112d. i also bought a case so i could use it as an external. my problem is that whenever i connect it by usb to my notebook nothing happens. i've installed the drivers for the case and my burner is working. please some one help. my laptop does not recognise it

Make sure the connection between the burner and the enclosure, and the enclosure and the PC are not corrupt in any way.

Also, make sure the power supply is not faulty.

Have you tried installing the drive into a desktop to see if it is recognised then? That would eliminate a faulty drive.
