Well, I know I want recode, the burner, and is it nerovision that lets me create a video? Asside from those 3 I dont really see a point in keeping the other garbage, except that I'm worried I leave them out it will some how effect the 3 things I'm trying to be able to do; 1 recode and compress, 2 make my own movies, and 3 burn them. By the way, this is Nero 7 premium edition. Some help would really be appreciated.

Leaving off the other apps of Nero shouldn't effect the 3 that you are installing.
If you just want the cd/dvd basics - install Burning Rom, Express, Recode & Vision.

Might want to add Tools (does disc scanning, id media etc), Showtime (play videos) and Image Drive (mount and play an iso file) if these are things you are interested but again leaving off what you don't want shouldn't have affect on the ones you want.
