I just recently converted my AVI file into a dvd file
but before i burned it i played it with gom player and
the audio came somewhat early, i thought it would be ok
after i burned and it but was i wrong, the audio was still
out of sync. Before i converted it , it was running
fine with fine aduio. is there any solution
i converted with ---- Avi2Dvd
audio ---- AC-3 ACM Decompressor
bit rate ---384 kbps
Try to load that AVI with MediaInfo http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net . Changing the 'means of viewing informaton' you should see if that havi has an audio which has a pre-defined delay.
I means, whan you extract AC3 audio from a DVD, you have a file like "movie AC3 448 kbps delay -400 ms.AC3"
Now you have two means:
1) correct the delay, shifting the AC3 of 400 ms before using it
2) inserting the 'delayed' sound stream and inserting (doing on VirtualDub "Audio___Interleaving") an audio correction in the A/V interleaving.
If the AVI has been made by 2), the movie appears in sync, but it is in sync only because you corrected the interleaving in the AVI.
Alas, when you convert to MPV the video, it is delayed with respect the sound, and therefore the audio delay must be inserted during DVD authoring.
Or, try this for any constant sync loss (free): http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/ Drag your original file into the top window, highlight it and select "generate data". In the lower window, highlight audio and if anything other than 0 appears to the right, select "start" naming and placing the new file as you wish and in a minute or two you'll have a new file to use. Usually works even when the original file shows no sync loss until encoded and I always check my files first.
