Wii DVD Slowing Down Computer

i've been trying to backup my warioware disc but when i pop it in my LG 8164-B drive it slows my computer down to a crawl and my mouse cursor alternates between freezing and moving normally. i have a pretty decent rig so its not cpu speed or whatever. i'm thinking it might be something to do with my dvd drive connections when i put it together but i've never had any problems with it before. when i pop up rawdump 2.0 it doesn't show my burner or reader drives. not exactly sure what i can do. whenever i pop in the disc it kills my computer pretty much and i have to reboot it.

nevermind. i looked around a few other forums and theres some sort of incompatibility between the 8164B and plugging it into a PCI/IDE card or something. gotta plug it in directly to the motherboard and its ok.
