Hey so i bought my wii with a modchip already installed which is wi-ic(sux). basically my problem with it is that im not sure if it would be ok for me to update the wii system or not in fear of bricking it. any suggestions??

Bricking happens when you run updates off of an imported game disc and not the internet. Trying to run SPM on your PAL wii? do the updates online and try playing it.

I haven't heard anything about mod chip systems being intentionally bricked.

Update via the internet should be fine. I have a Wii and a modchip (Wiikey) and have done 2 such updates, as well as downloaded the new version of Opera. No problems at all.
