If space is not a issue could you put more than one game on a disc and make a menu that would let you pick the game?

It won't work with PSX games, but it will certainly work for PS2 games as long as the sizes are small enough and the file names don't conflict with one another. For example, though not true, it's like having Disgaea and Atelier Iris in one game disc is much easier to do than getting Disgaea 1 and 2 onto the same disc.

Can I make a make a multigame dvd with X-treme G 3 racing, Dynasty Warriors 2, and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex?
Will using multigame discs in my PS2 hurt my PS2 in anyway?

follow the guide posted above(with Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex you will have to convert it to dvd first not sure about the others do)

Is there a special reason as to why I have to convert this game to dvd?
Also I need to know if this harms PS2's in anyway...

Here's a very prime example of why you must convert it to DVD if you wanted to play something like Marvel Vs Capcom 2 or Growlancer Generations. Try booting a DVD with the Swap Magic 3.8 coder CD version, not the DVD version, and see if it'll boot. Same answer applies on how to build multi-games from PS2 CD-based games (blue-colored).

Edit: Will it harm your PS2? Not that I know of. Saves me a fortune in space in two ways: 1, uses the excess space of a 4.34gigabyte DVD you're using for a mere 300, and 2, it makes 3,4,5 games-in-1 disc easy to store.

Ok I understand know since it was originally a cd based game I need to convert it to dvd so that swapmagic(dvd) will boot it up.
Got it
