I found an odd situation with DVD+R 8x Ritek RiData media recently. Before I updated my cyclowiz mod chip to 3.0B, the mod chip and backed up media were working perfectly. Post update the originals were working but not the backed up games. So post trying multiple things I tried something just for fun. I burned a back up using the same image I used on my old nonworking backups and voila, it works?!? I checked the old disks and they are scratch free, were stored properly. The only difference I noted was that the first backup I burned using only 2x and the newer backup I used automatic. (going max, just for kicks) Anyone have a clue as to how this happened? I am intrigued more then anything. Thanks for any insight! :D

edit: I found that by setting the write speed to automatic vs. 2x, that the new backups work. (using imgburn) I believe this might have to do with the update causing the drive to read backups faster.

Well believe me, Mike, I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid... and I went ahead anyway.
