I just installed my WiiKey with 1.2 setup disc on my 2.2 USA Wii. I have been having a blast burning and playing just about every game I possibly could imagine having on the system from US games. Just yesterday I got Bleach Wii, Fire Emblem, and Pokemon Battle Revolution. Bleach boots just fine and its a NTSC-J title, however the other two aren't recognized by the Wii. I went into the setup disc's menus and checked if Region Override was on (because I turned it on to get Bleach working), and for some reason it seems like the settings didn't save and Region Override was off. Every time I boot up the setup disc it seems like Region Override is off. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

The wiikey setup disk cant actually obtain information back from the wiikey, so it will always display those original settings regardless of what the last settings were.

So when you turn the region override on it is ON, untill you use the disk to turn it off.

Out of curiousity, what happens when you try to boot these games? I have an issue where there is sound, but no picture for some GC games, what is your issue?

"Unable to read disc"

I also have the gamecube problem you described (only for PAL games).

The region override option works for about 75% of games, and there is a list that will help you decide if your alternate region games will work on your USA wii.

Compatability list for Wii

I have a feeling that the overrider just cant deal with GC PAL games, and thats why we are getting that Sound Only error. Have you found a way to fix your PAL gamecube iso's to work on your USA console?

Thanks a bunch for that list.. I'm converting both games now to NTSC-U, I'll see if that changes anything!

Bleach is NTSC-J also right? I was just wondering if Aaron found a way to make those PAL GC games that he had the "sound only" issue with work...

Guys ok..

use WiigionFree to make the ISOs from NTSC-J to NTSC-U for the Wii Games.. everything works!

as for PAL GC games, hold B at the beginning of each game when they boot and it SHOULD WORK!!! Chooze 50Hz mode if it asks you.

That worked like a charm. I must have tried burning SSBM 6 times, and I never even thought it wouldbe something like that...oh well.

Thanks Aaron!

Now if I could just figure out how to make SSX Blur PAL work on my wii...
