I've managed to splash some milk on my desk which was, thankfully, virtually uncovered. One thing that did get hit was my DVD+R spindle, only half gone.
I was wondering if the ones that got milk on them are permanently damaged or not and if there is some easy way of cleaning them.
If brand makes a difference, they are Memorex.
And advice would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Can't help giggling about it.. being memosux disks it's probably a relief for your burner, which wasn't looking forward to the prospect.
On a realistic note.. you can use some lint free cloth and some cool soapy water and try to wash them just like plates. Then I would give them a wipe over with some cd cleaning fluid.
But memosux... Is it worth the bother.. ;-)

i've heard of Brasso, toothpaste, even hair gel, but Milk on DVD's (Memorex to boot), that one's new on me.. That's the most novel way of attempting to make Memorex more usable that i've ever heard.
edit- Dairy Products - don't let them near your burners.

personally, I wouldn't bother trying to clean them. Instead, go and buy some good discs.

But Memorex is inexpensive and I've had positive experiences with them in the past....
If I want to be saving things for long periods of time though, I suppose I should invest in some good media.
Thanks for the info!

Inexpensive now...expensive later.
You can usually find Verbatims on sale cheaper than the alternatives...just keep an eye out.
