They both come with a standard 1 year warranty, however for the same price, both warranties can be extended to 3 years.

Acer have done naughty things in the past - for one, loading all their laptops with rootkits meaning they can spy on their uses at any time they feel like it if they choose to. Don't know if they still do it, but that was pretty bad. I used to tell anyone with an Acer laptop to reformat it as soon as they got it.

Is there any way to check for and remove the rootkit, in case I buy an acer, so I don't have to format???

Razer mice are rare here and waaaay above affordable prices. Microsoft and logitech ones however are widely available.
I have an MS wireless optical mouse 2.0 I like but the receiver is too big to use with a laptop.
Any other suggestions

Just got back from the store, and GPU-Z couldn't tell me what type of memory the acer had, the memory type category was just blank, even though everything else was there.
The acer had higher clocks than the HP (using GPU-Z) does this mean it is GDDR3???
PS-How good do you think this mouse will be??

Logitech stuff is usually pretty solid. Personally I don't like the shape of their later mice at all, but clearly that's personal preference.

I actually like the shape of this mouse, and I'm rightie so it fits well. I was thinking of this because its not too small like many notebook mice, which makes them difficult to game with.

When I used GPU-Z and checked the core and memory clocks, they were higher for the acer 9600, compared to HP 9600
Could this mean the acer does indeed have the GDDR3 version????

I also e-mailed Acer Middle east and HP middle east asking about the 9600M Gt in both their laptops and which type of memory they had.
Waiting for a reply from them, but I'll probably go with the acer

I'm going with the acer, because someone I know e-mailed nVidia and they said the 9600 in the aspire 5930G doesn't come with DDR2 graphics.
PS - I want to connect my new laptop to my current computer so we can play LAN games eg. UT3 :D
Can you tell me which cable (with a pic) will be needed so I can buy it with my laptop???
Is there anything else needed to set up a LAN (both have Ethernet, one is XP SP2 on is Vista home premium)
