Do anybody know if I install a EtherFast usb Network Adapter to the back of the wii and attach a ethernet cable to the usb adapter and that to the internet. Do anybody know if this will work.

if you have it why not just try it?? or just get a wireless router ;) that would be easier

I have a wireless router and sometimes it works and sometime don't

just stick with your wireless router.. its much simpler and it saves you money just make sure you configure all the settings correctly ;)

when it doesnt work just reboot the router then the wii

make sure any other pcs in the house cant access the dhcp range that the wii is using

ie give the pcs in the house a fixed ip

then there will be less chance of conflicts and slowdowns

how would I do that in vista

im not sure if it would be the same with xp but try going to the properties of your network (from the status window of your wireless network connection) then look for TCP/IP then click properties again then configure it there

well other than fixing the ip try changing the range in the router of the dhcp

ie let the wii connect and obtain its ip then move the dhcp start range to higher than the one the wii has taken in the router settings.
if the wii takes 192.168.0.3 start the dhcp range at 192.168.0.10

only problem u may get is if u reset the settings in the wii
