Setup Disc works, but backup doesn't... help!

Okay,
I just installed my Wiikey today and had no problems. Every contact looks good.

Made the backup using a LG-8164 and rawdump 2.0.
I backed up my Wii Play and burnt the iso using RecordNow at Mid speed on a Ritek DVD-R.

The setup disc works fine, but Wii Play isn't being recognized. Any suggestions?

try using another burning prog like imgburn
try using different discs - just coz the setup disc worked doesnt mean the discs are ok for the games
also try burning slower - not sure what your mid speed is - i burn at 4x

well said, only thing i can add to that is make sure the disc is an .ISO file and Nero works wonderfully for me on both wii, and GC games at 4X

I tried imgburn at 4x and my Wii recognized it! Sweet!

Menion, I like Nero but unfortunately my trial expired so I couldn't use it. It just happened today... I'll fix that though!

I like imgburn its free also. I got my wii with the wiikey to finally play my backup but I had to move it around and play it upside down. I did a wire install with the wiikey and need to check the contact to fix this problem.

the number of ppl in here who have experienced issues with Nero is unreal - it may work for some but it doesnt for a lot of others

always try different variables

discs
programs
firmware upgrades
burn off different hard drives
onto different writers
close down software
slower speeds
different isos - it could easily be knackered

anything else u can think of

I used both Nero and IMGBurn and the only burning program that is consistent with backups with no DRE is IMGBurn.

Nero has been hit and miss and nothing can piss you off more then playing a game and getting into it and then a read disc error pops up. So IMGBurn for me.

But as Thinone has stated everyone is different. What works for me might not work for you so try all different types of combos and once you find a process that works for you stick with it.
