i have a belkin wireless g card (f5d7000 v7 : realtek 8185L chipset) that i have been tryin to get deb. 4.0 to read but have come up with no result...am i missing something?

i used the installdebianetch ndiswrapper guide if it helps

-v7 PS2 (needs new motherboard) w/ dms 4 chip
-i386 w/ 2 80gb hdd dual booting WINXP and DEBIAN 4.0 "ETCH"

As far as i know, there are some minor issues with that card if using ndiswrapper on Debian.
Try the latest release *not the latest stable*, or have a look around the wiki : http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page
[edit]if there is no newer ndiswrapper, then try the latest Debian, might be they solved the problem on their side[/edit]

ok im gonna try that..... i might have to try the stuff for this card: Belkin Wireless G Cardbus PCI F5D7010 ver.7..... cuz it is the only one with the same chipset even though mine is the f5d7000 ver 7

no luck

i either get invalid driver or could not find manufacturer label or part

I take it you did check to see if your hardware is actually supported at all by ndiswrapper ?

hmmmmm...did you set up your wlan device correctly?

I'm not too sure about Debian but for openSUSE, when I set up my broadcom wlan device I had to set the module name to ndiswrapper...try doing that

ended up just gettin a basic d-link card. works just fine with ndiswrapper. finally figured out how to install windows drivers with ndis the right way too.
