OK, I'm fairly new to the mod scene, and I have read good things and bad things about both chips, so I was hoping some of you with knowledge on the subject could help. I want a chip that cannot be detected, I want to be able to use it even after nintendo updates firmware, but most of all after I put it in, I want the least amount of hassle and not have to open the wii up again. I have limited soldering experience, so I also want the easiest to install. All in all, I want the best chip for a newbie. Any and all help appreciated.

I would recommend the WiiD.

It is a new chip on the block and has all features that the others have.

Below are a few reviews on the chip itself...

Below is a link that offers a comparison of features that each Modchip offers.

It is easy to install. Has both quick and wired install. It has played every Wii game backup I have done both PAL/NTSC and has booted my gamecube backups as well. All this for around the same price as Wiikey plus with a few other features that Wiikey does not have.

I'd prefer the wiikey over the cyclowiz. since WiiD is just quite new, not much people knows about it but IMO its a suitable competitor for the wiikey as it has most or all of its features and an additional firmware reset(for the chip) and a temporary chip disabling function.

actually the cyclowiz is better than a wiikey after a full updated to v3. But i still said the wiinja deluxe is the better chip. I heard in a forum that both cyclowiz and wiikey have problem reading bloody roar for GC. the wiinja deluxe played that game just fine.
