I just bought some of 10 disc capcity cases below...

http://www.kingdom.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=CDVA10

What I'm wondering is that since the spine is so much thicker on these (approx. 2 times thicker than a regular dvd case spine) will I need to buy 11 X 17 size paper now for the outer artwork and simply trim it to fit? The regular 8 1/2 X 11 paper isn't gonna be big enough to fill the case. Does anybody here use multi-dvd cases with wider spines? If I have to go to the 11 X 17 size paper, this in turn means that I'd have to have a wide tray printer too correct? What should I do?

Thanks,
Keith

I ran into that issue to, what I did was buy 11 x 17 photo paper on line, trimed it to 8 1/2 x 14 so I could use it in my Epson R200 most regular printers can do 8 1/2 x 14 size

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have the Epson R200 printer too (damn good printer) and I wanted to ask you some more questions about the paper situaion I'm having. As I mentioend in my post, the spines on the 10 disc cases I bought are slightly thicker than 2 regular dvd cases put together. I took a regular 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper and slipped it inside the outer artwork sleeve of a case just to see what it looked like. It took the entire sheet of paper as far as width with some leftover, but as far as the height 8 1/2 x 11 would be fine. Does that make sense to you? So you take 11 x 17 and trim to fit huh? Is that the only way the R200 could handle what I need? I assume it is...another problem I'm having is this...my regular dvd artwork inserts are 3240 x 2175 pixels in Photoshop with a small amount of trimming required. What would be the pixel size to fill up the sleeve of one of these 10 disc cases? How thick are the spines of the multi-cases you use? LMk and thanks.

PS. What site did you order the 11 x 17 paper from and what brand is it/cost?

The r200 wont handle anything bigger then 8 1/2 x 14, my multi disc case are only 7 1/2 high, thats why I trim the 11 x 17 to 8 1/2 x 14, the spline on mine are 1 wide, as far as pixel I couldnt tell you, I just made a word document for mine and played with it, was easier for me to get exact size, the place I got mine was www.PCNation.com, it was Kodak Glossy 11 x 17 for $18.00, free shipping but they dont carry it no more so you will have to search.
