when i try to burn stuff often i will have a fresh dvd or cd in the cd tray and the cd tray will open a a window will pop up and not close that says to insert a cd and often trying to close the window it will abort the burning session

Is this a Nero popup or a Windows one? If Nero doesn't think there is media in the drive, there might be something wrong with your system, or you are using the wrong media for what you are doing.
