Guys,

Sorry for the newbie status, but here is an advanced question:

Why is it that when I back-up a DVD movie with -R media I have ZERO issues but when I try and back-up the same DVD movie with the exact same settings using +R media, I make several coasters?

I am using AnyDVD with CloneDVD as my software combo.

Does -R media offer better compression? I notice if the movie has sveral "extras" or multiple previews or is over 2 hours long, it fails when using +R media - why?

Thanks,

Mayor

What media are you using? Are the +R and -R discs the same brand?

Are you sure your DVD burner supports +R?

can you use the same settings. I thought that some -r/+r burners burn the -r and r at different speeds.

Guys,

I am using TDK +R media and I am using Memorex -R media - both well know name brands.

My DVD Burner is the Pioneer A106U (Retail) and supports 4x +/- R media.

Thanks,

Do the +R discs not work on your PC or your standalone? I am just thinking that maybe your standalone is not compatible with +R media.

It could be compatible with DVD+R media as there is DVD+R media which does not allow video to be played as it is only for data!

Could it be you have these non-DVD video compatible discs?
