My friend just had his installed today, and i was putting in v1.2 wiikey and a error always pops up..the Dvd is the image of BootableDisk_US on the wiikey 1.2 update..downloaded off site..all i did was extract the image which was bootdisk.us (image) and burn with image on Nero 4x...
anyone know whats wrong??
I followed this
Making the WiiKey Base 1.2 Disc:
Quick Start - Creating the disc without modification and/or additional media:
If your intention is to simply create the disc "AS IS", follow these simple instructions:
- Extract the contents in the package config1.2.rar to a suitable and easy to find location on your hard drive (eg. C:\wiikey\) - (if you do not have the required software to extract a RAR file, you may download it HERE).
- Double click the batch file representing your region. (eg. BootableDisc_US.bat for US region, BootableDisc_JAP.bat for JAPAN region, BootableDisc_PAL.bat for regions using PAL devices).
- An MS-DOS application window will appear, it will build your DVD image file based on the options you choose. (with this method, all you have chosen is a region). This will take some time as it is collecting all the data to place on the dvd image as well as building a dummy file for the root bootable image contained in the dvd to start the disc (this is for compatibility reasons - do not concern yourself with this).
- Once the application has completed, it will close and you will find a new file has been placed in your root directory containing the package (eg. C:\wiikey\)
- Burn the ISO file with whatever software you prefer that supports burning from disc images in ISO format.
- Load the burned DVD into your WiiKey enhanced Wii and enjoy.
Creating the disc WITH additional media: If your intention is to create the disc with additional media (eg. other homebrew apps, snes roms, and/or audio/video), follow these instructions:
- Extract the contents in the package config1.2.rar to a suitable and easy to find location on your hard drive (eg. C:\wiikey\) - (if you do not have the required software to extract a RAR file, you may download it HERE).
- Each of the applications that support additional media have their own directory in the package for adding said media.
- SNES9x - ROMS: The directory path for adding roms for snes9x is "package-root\bootdisc\root\Snes". - GcOS MB - GCM/DOL: The directory path for adding Gamecube GCM and/or DOL files is "package-root\bootdisc\root\Dols".
- MFE Media Player - Audio/Video: The directory path for adding audio/video files is "package-root\bootdisc\root\Media". (Official codec support list HERE)
- The estimated size of the contents of the final disc is less than 25MB with no additional media. Therefore you have LOTS of room to place files on your disc. If you go over the limit, the application will tell you when it is trying to build the disc.
He asked me to make an SNES DVD, im lost with that as well
u put the snes games in the folder config.1.2\bootdisc\root\Snes
says u can put zip or std files in there
i found big probs trying to create an image as it has to shorten all the filenames for joliet and then trips up as it names asdfghjk 1.1 and asdfghjk 1.2 as the same name and falls over
i found this out by editing the BootableDisc_PAL.bat file and putting a pause in it so it didnt just error out

I have bunch of snes roms that came bundled in an snes9x emulator torrent. These have no file extension to them. is this what you consider a 'std' file, or would it be *.std?
in other words, would these work at all, and if so, would I have to add file extensions?
