Saw this at Meritline. What do you think? $22 per 100 discs. Should I grab it to use when my 8X TY's run out? Has anybody used this media?

Verbatim (94495) 4X DVD-R White Inkjet Printable 4.7GB Blank Media in Cake Box, 50, 100, 200 Pack

DVD-R-DVDR-printable-blank-media-disc-discs-cake-box.html" target="_blank">http://www.meritline.com/verbatim-4x-dvd...s-cake-box.html

Would take twice as long to burn as my present 8x does...

I've used the 4x inkjet ones before - been quite a while though and all was good.
I haven't bought 4x speed media in a long time - 8x or higher burning at 8x or higher. Yeah I realize burning at 4x would only be a few minutes longer but I prefer 8x or higher. (except for RW discs) Just me :)

You should be good with the Verbs.

I'm used to burning on 16x & 8x media at the rated speed. Last 16x I burned was two 50 packs of TY Sony's from a buy 1 get 1 free sale 3 or 4 months ago. The store had 2 TY -R's on the shelf & once I ran out of that I started burning my silver/matte inkjet printable 8x TY's. Takes twice as long to burn it but the time frame is still fine. Haven't burned 4x in about 2.5 years & that was some MIJ Maxell I got on sale. Six 50 packs worth from one store.

Verbs are great (like TY is) I use them for +R DL backups so I don't have to compress a disc.

Almost full disc single layer burning times on my Plextor 716-A are as follows.

16x 5 minutes
8x 10 minutes

so 4x would be around 20 minutes for a nearly full disc.

I'm always in a hurry to get nowhere :) so I'd probably pass on buying the 4x Verbs. Not bad discs at all just in 20 mins I can back up a dvd :)
