Right now, I am having problems with the sound. After i rip the DVD and play it, no sound occurs. So I try using AutoGK again, (and looked at the tutorial) and selected the Video_TS folder. When I go to select the music, I do not get any Audio Tracks to select, it's completely blank.

I have done this before using DVD Decrypter and Auto Gordian Knot for my "The Iron Giant" DVD with no troubles. But now I do.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. <3

If you drag one of the(large) VOB files on to GSpot does it show audio?
Does it say that codecs are installed for the video and audio?
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/GSpot270a.zip

At the bottom of the screen, under MS A/V, press button '1' to render the file, then button '2' to play the file.
If the codecs are ok, you will hear the sound.

To be clear, the DVD has no sound either playing it on the PC or after ripping?
If so, you may need an AC3 filter.
GSpot >System > List Codecs >Format, under Audio look for an AC3 entry.
or
Start >Control Panel>Sounds and Audio.>Hardware>Audio Codecs>Properties>
Properties, look for AC-3 Decompressor
If notlisted you can try downloading one to try.
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_...s/ac3filter.cfm

Pushing the button in GSpot should show the audio being rendered with an AC3 filter (in a video with AC3 dolby sound)

it makes it more organized, but I tried again with the GSpot with the Video_TS and it still says codec not installed.

maybe I should take all these programs out and start from the beginning again? from what programs I should download and what else I should download?

I don't understand why I'm showing no codec, I have tons of them on my computer and I never took them off from the last time i ripped a dvd.

sorry

To be clear it's a 'VTS_01_1.VOB' that you are checking.
If you have a bunch of codec 'packs' it might be time to uninstall them and select a new download of one only to install.

holy crap....

alright, let me try this out.

damnit, it's the same thing. doesn't show the codecs. I actually tried playing the .vob file on my media player (VLC media player, not like windows media) and All of them play with sound. But when I load it onto GSpot, it doesn't find the Codecs. Even If i preview with AutoGK, i get a error on the preview saying that it could not open as video or audio.

Your able to load different codecs on GSpot correct? if so, then how?
I think that may fix it.

(and how would i be able to uninstall all the codecs and find the right one to play?)

GSpot does nothing except checks the file for the name of codec that the file claims to have been created with.
It further looks in your PC to see if the codec exists.
In GSpot, click on system to see a list of installed codecs.
Click on 'Name' and check for 'MPEG2'
Look for codecs highlighted in red, indicating a problem.

This Microsoft program checks for a decoder on the PC that is compatible with Windows Media Player.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...DxsoWMugg%3d%3d

If there is one, the files should play ok.If not uninstall WMP and do a reinstall.

nope, didn't work.

I do remember using DVDx with this. maybe that will help. I'll see later on.
I'm probably gonna have to start new. This is not working at all. Now my bro is angry for having all these programs on our computer. Wish there was an easier way than this.

Thanks for the help.
