are you using the latest version of CloneDVD 2 (2.9.0.3) and AnyDVD (6.1.3.6)

try using the beta version of the AnyDVD ripper. ripping the file to you're HD first then transcoding the MOVIE ONLY with CloneDVD 2

@nye553....... just a little clarity here....... by asking a question inside of a thread with a different subject is called hijacking. This is not allowed. You are better off asking your question by starting a new thread. Like "DVDDecrypter help needed". this way members will answer JUST your question. It's not really fair to the one who started the thread by having someone else divert the thread to his own purposes. I know.... I have been guilty of doing just that. but if more and more members follow forum rules it would solve a lot of problem for people with the same problem and can do a search and find threads appropriate to their needs.... without having to divert themselves to a thread and find out that it went off in a tangent that has no bearing on what they were looking for in the original thread. How annoying.

anyway........ welcome to Afterdawn and I'll try to answer your question........

DVDDecrypter will rip a DVD and it's files to your hard drive...... it's the DVD structure made up of VOB, IFO, and BUP files. Together they make up the DVD...... so if you look at IFO in the glossary section it will give you this answer:
Quote:
While the main content of DVD-Video disc are the VOB files which contain the actual MPEG-2 audio, video and subtitle streams, the IFO files provide information for DVD player where DVD-Video disc's chapters start, where certain audio tracks are located, etc..

and you can find out that BUP files are backups of IFO files. they do this because sometimes the IFO files become corrupt on and then the player will read the BUP files to play the disk! Structure!

So with this knowledge you can rip the whole DVD and then go from there...... or you can just rip the movie from the DVD (VOB files and IFOs).... but to say you just want to rip VOBs..... you are taking just the video, audio and subtitle streams of the disk.. and each VOB is sections of the movie! I hope this clarifies things for you.
