I have a Samsung upconvert model with HDMI out and Mitsubishi 65" Rear Progection 1080i with DVI in. When I use the HDMI->DVI connection and switch the DVD player to 1080i, the picture messes up. What's up with that?

Good question. I bought the Samsung, 860, but turns out it doesn't actually have DivX support so I took it back. But I had planned on doing the HDMI --> DVI thing myself. I'm disappointed to hear it doesn't work.
