Hi new here and looking for some help. Have a region 2 dvd that i would like to burn so that i can view in a dvd player that is hooked to a television. I am able to rip to an iso file which i can then burn to a disk. My problem then lies in the fact that this disk will not play in any of the dvd players. It seems to give an error on of the dvd players that it is the wrong format. It seems that between region 2 and region 1 dvds there is a PAL and NTSC format i believe. Is there any way to circumvent this. The dvd that i burned is shown as region free so it is not a region problem or so it seems. But there is obviously something wrong. Help is greatly appreciated.

You can import multiple files into this program.
Make sure they show in the correct order.(VOB1 VOB2 ETC)

http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe

Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)
Use Nero burning ROM to burn the files to DVD.
Alternatively, burn with freeware, DVD Shrink + DVD Decrypter.

I want to take the "region 2" off a couple of DVDs I have so I can play them on a trip I'm taking on my Poloroid portable player. Is there any software that will do this? Does Mac The Knife do it on a Mac? or anything that works on a PC is fine. I have both.

Region 2 Europe?
If you use DVDFabDecrypter, Insert disk, run DVDFAB, select 'Main Movie'to rip the DVD then that would take care of the problem, but it would still be a PAL format disk (and you are in North America, NTSC?)
If your portable can handle PAL, then just burn the output files to a new disk.

Otherwise rip the files using DVDFAB to a folder, then use:
http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe
Import the file(s) (AVI, MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv or screen)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)
Use Nero burning ROM to burn the files to DVD.
Alternatively, burn with freeware, DVD Shrink + DVD Decrypter.

The files in the folder (from DVDFAB) will be a group of very large files example 'VTS_01_1.VOB' then '_2' etc.
Make sure the input line of the second program shows them in the correct order.
