Can anyone help

Im upto about the third or fourth level were you need to find the sister of faith, ive come to a part on the game were ive landed on the island and need to pull a crain over the metal ring so the door will open,

Im doing exaclty what it says, hold R1 to grip the crain and toggle the left analog downwards to pull the crain, HOWEVER it wont come onto the metal ring, it just stops then when i release R1 the door closes

(Is it just me or could it be a fault on the game)

You need to turn the cog above water until the rod under water lines up with the grove in the cog under water then pull the lever right at the base underwater....

This had me stumped for a while

i have now clocked the game, finished it last night

What a game, i wouldnt have been able to do them puzzles with out getting the walk through from google,
