My local CompUSA has one of "their" DVD+/-RW drives for $49.99 and in the description, the manufacturer model number is listed as DW1640, and they're in stock. It includes a black faceplate, Nero OEM Suite & PowerDVD software. Can it be a BenQ has been found? Is anyone familiar with CompUSA selling the BenQ as theirs? There's only one catch. It carries a mere 90-day warranty.

Yes the DW1640 is the BenQ - BenQ is (or was) the oem for some of their drives.
Around Xmas they had a bunch on sale - same deal BenQ's. But never got a chance to pick one up. I think they were like 10 bucks during the xmas special.
