hi do the dvd players with HDMI display better pq than a dvd player hooked with component, this to be run on plsama 42"

I didn't see anything in the manual, about it upscaling. Plus, players that upscale, do it through HDMI. Since your's doesn't have an HDMI output...............

Most people say you don't see a difference in the video, between component and HDMI. The biggest advantage of HDMI is that it carries the audio and video signals, through the one cable. Less cables equals less clutter.
