Need help playing Suikoden 2, and a question abt usbhost

Hello, im new to these forums so hello everyone:)
So, i came here for one main reason, to get help xD
So i have firmware 3.40 oe-a and when i try playing suikoden 2, it gets stuck on the mist monster. I have searched it up and see that a lot of ppl have this problem and a popstation 3.02 plugin or something can fix it. Well, i downloaded some easy installer pack or someting for the plugin so i can choose fromm 3.00, 3.01, 3.02, 3.03, 3.10, and 3.11
So when i try 3.10 and 3.11 it still gets stuck on the mist monster fight. When i try using the others ones, most importantly 3.02, it give me an error the game could not be started. I dont remember the error number it has an 8 in the beginning.
Basically me question is how do i get suikoden 2 to run without problems on firmware 3.40 oe-a
Also, is it possible to play ps1 games off usbhost?
