Best DVD player for audio?

I am trying to pick up a good second hand DVD player for audio. I tried a Samsung 611 and an Airis L100.The Samsung says 24Bit 96KHz converters on the front. It sounded good but skipped often and didn't play RW. The Airis plays great. No skips.5.1 out etc - but sounds harsh.

It's easy to pick up a second hand DVD at the local car boot but as I have found they don't all sound the same.

Are there some general rules for the best sounding DVD players, which use quality converters, things to look for (gold plated connectors)etc.

I don't think I will find a DVD-Audio player in the car boot but I will certainly look.

Any info from an expert would be greatly appreciated.
