Okay, Im completely new to this, i just recently bought a PSP from my mate, the firmware is 1.50, i managed to get homebrew eboots working, but i also heard that you can run psp isos of the memory stick, after hours of googlin i figured out how to do it (running 'untold legends' with UMDemulator)
But today, i got an ISO torrent, but when i open the RAR file, there is no ISO image, just loads of files like ".R00, .R01, up to about .R07" I searched the forum but didnt find anything. PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!

first forget about 1.5, its outdated and umdemulator is SERIOUSLY outdated

and then use WinRAR for ur friggin game

Ok Ok, I managed to find some info on the 001 002 etc files, I used WinRAR to open them and they all seem to have exactly the same ISO inside. I read that you only need to extract the first one (example.001) and ignore the rest So what is the point of them even being there!?

About this custom firmware business, call me a noob or whatever, but I'm kinda paranoid about all of it because of some of the bricking i've come across. And even if i was to get a 3.30 oe-a thingy, how would i go back to 1.5 if i didnt like it? But im more bothered about the 1st question really, cos it doesnt work, or make any sense!!

its a WinRAR archive.

and to get back to 1.5, you get the recovery files (they are in the stickies in the winstaller thread) and use it in recovery mode.
