are taiyo yuden value line DVD-R good for wii backup games? since there are 2 types of taiyo yuden, value line and premium. does the value line works as good as the premium disc? has anyone try it out, are they(value line and premium) the same or one is better then the other one? let me know.

since taiyo yuden is a good brand to backup wii games. so i wanted to know which type of taiyo yuden DVD-R are better, value line or premium, or are they like the same for backing up wii games

I use Value Line Tayio Yuden DVD-R media from supermediastore.com and they work perfect.
This is from the supermediastore website on the above media...

I have had both media codes of TYG02 and TYGO3 for the value line. I don't know actually what the premium codes would be. I TYG0 something I would figure.
Since the value line are value line because they do not pass the premium standard then i would assume the Premium would be better then the value line. But even Value line are good. Because I haven't had any problems with them at this time.

since, some people r perferring that the value line works perfectly for wii backup games. has anyone try out premium, does it work perfectly for backup wii games, just like the value line?

i have the premium at least i think is it, worked very good. The reason i asked FOR the code is because i found it strange that the valueline code is also like the premium, TYGO2.

i dont know why people make such a big deal about using verbatim or ty for their wii backups. all the discs ive tried, ridata +R, sony -R, verbatim +/-R, burned at 4x have worked fine for me.

Just because you can use other media with no problem doesn't mean others can. Maybe you where just lucky and bought a Wii that isn't as picky. Verbatim and Tayio Yuden are usually the most compatible blank media for the Wii system and most other applications. Of course this is not the case in every situation but it more is the case then not. Plus you will tend to get a longer life span on Verbatim and Tayio Yuden then other cheaper media.
I have some Sony/Ridata/Imation/Memorex media that I used for DVD backup years ago when I first started backing up my DVD's. The reason I bought them was because the price was cheap. The media work perfect with no trouble back then but now they are giving me data read error's from the disc degrading. Where the Tayio Yudens that I have used back then are still playing with no problem.
So saving a few bucks on the cheaper media ended up costing me more in the long run since I find myself replacing the cheap media backups with Tayio Yudens. Wished I would have found that information out when I first started backing up my DVD Collection. Would have saved allot of headache in the future.

The disc Sony and verbatim are first class media, so they are long lasting media, Ridata is 2nd class but it still last longer than other cheap media. Taiyo Yuden are said to lasts up to 100 years, past your living time so who cared if it can lasts even longer. For cheap media, it can worked today, but could die tomorrow or within a couples of month. I've used cheap media before and they die on me a couple of times, such as loss in sound or disc doesn't boot up.
