wiikey installed originals worked and now they don't

I had the wiikey installed by somebody who knows what they are doing so I am happy that its installed correctly.

I brought it home and whilst i began backing up a game I tested the system on my original discs. All worked fine.

I played the Godfather most of the afternoon whilst I backed up Prince of Persia. I also played wii sports (bit of bowling with my 3 year old daughter).

When the game was finally backed up i tested it only to be greeted with the message - 'unable to read disc format please consult your trouble shooting manual'

I tried on a different kind of disc to be greeted with same message. I tried 2 other kinds of disc with imageburn to be greeted with same message.

BUT

I put an original disc in and I am getting the same message?
I have used disc cleaner to clean the head but same problem.

What are my options?

Keep trying to use different media till you find 1 that works or send it back to whoever installed it and have them check the Modchip out. If it was from a reputable site there should be some sort of 30 to 90 day guarantee on the install.

But why would the original discs that worked fine before suddenly stop working?

Sorry I miss understood the question.

If Orignal games are not booting either. All I can think of is if the Modchip is not installed correctly or somehow is making a bridge whear the solder joints where added for the chip and shorting out the board.

Try getting in contact with the person that installed the chip and ask them to help you resolve the problem.

After the wiikey was installed the original discs worked fine up until the point I tried a backed up disc and since this point the originals have stopped working.

I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem.

i get this every once and awhile with my wiikey that I will load a back-up and it will give me the disc read error but i usually turn my wii on it's side and reboot and it goes away and i dont see it for a long time try unplugging the power and plugging it back in - but if to no avail check your chip something may have been knocked loose, If nothing works it may be getting a new modchip (I know its one and a million but electronics do go bad sometimes thats why warranties were created)

just loose connections guys... make sure everything is properly soldered and no cold solder joint in there... cold solder joint would cause intermittent issue (sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt)depending on the temperature of your wii...

regarding on the tilting the system... u most likely have a loose connection...

regarding on original copy not working... its possible that the loose connection is shorting out other pins... I wouldnt recommend leaving your system on cause it my fry wii's chip...
