Please some one help i am pulling my hair out.
i have a psp running 1.5 & 3.03 oe-c ,
i purchased a 4gb sony memory card as the 2 gb quickly filled up with games.
i have filled the 4gb card up with more games but the memory card will only show 4 games out of 7 through the psp.
i can see that all the games which are a mix of iso's & cso's are there when i connect up the usb and open the iso file on the comp.
i must point out that the games that are on display play fine.
i have tried reformating the card and reloading through a slower usb 1,1 but still will only show 4 games.
it doesn't appear to be a game problem as it will only show the first 4 games loaded.
i am not using any emulators or fastloaders as 3.03 oe-c doesn't seam to need them .
why won't the psp show all the games on the memory stick?

many thanks for your help in advance.

what are the tell tell signs?

Or you could just get them from actual stores? I don't know if that would work, but I alway get mine in actual stores and they havn't been acting weird. I don't bother buying memory sticks online.

Just bought a 4Gb SanDisk off ebay... like the original poster, the files stay are on the disk but the PSP doesn't recognize them, other weird problems like games saying there's insufficent space to save a profile when there's many gigs free

Beware of ebayer "Sharpdisk"

Hopefully I can get my money back :(

toren i'm sorry to hear about your troubles , i know how frustrating this is.
try googling for info about fake sandisk memory cards and use that info to force a full refund as i did.
from extensive googling my self i came to the conclusion that probably 99% of psp memory cards sold on ebay are fake.
it is also worth noteing that some people do report to have problems with the standard blue sandisk cards.
i have had no problems what so ever with the red 4gb sandisk gaming card which play.com are doing for a amazing price and are definatly genuine with next day delivery to boot.
all the best with trying to get your money back.

Thanks for the tips Moorey.

I actually had a second card on order which he promptly cancelled and refunded my money on and he's going to refund to my money on this order as soon as it's returned, so yay. Perhaps the card isn't a fake, maybe it's just glitchy.. and I'm not sure the seller was aware of this.. anyway, he's responded like a champ thus far to rectify things.

As for play.com, geez! Wish I knew about this place before... their price is $10 cheaper than the "steal" I thought I was getting off ebay.

One question: Do they not ship to the USA?? I'm in the middle of processing my order and in the drop-down box where you select the country there's nothing for the USA, no United States, nothing. Odd.

I got mine at Amazon.com expecting a better resolution, I wasted $60 on ebay, I already got $20 and sold the bad cards to some guy... here locally, he uses them for music, so I earned there a bit off what I lost, still I am waiting for a refund on the other $40... I got a 4gb for $40 and a 2gb for $20, I used the ebay.ca article regarding fakes, ja, the $20 seller inmediatly refunded the money without questions :)

This is your ticket to getting a refund for fake cards... it solved my problems without hassle :) Hope it helps and next time better get one from a respected store, like sony.com, amazon.com, sky2k.com they all have nice prices, for example on amazon.com the 2gb is as low as $32 + shipping and on the sony site $60 So after getting this much problems I prefer wasting more money ons omething that WILL WORK!

PSP (+[__]%): 2.80 < 1.50 > 3.40OE-A > 3.71M33-4 > 3.80m33-5 > 3.90m33-3 > 4.01m33-2 + 8gb MSPD
PS3 HD 60GB: 1.33 > 1.90 > 2.01 > 2.17 - NO OS
Nintendo DS [+[__]%]: EZ Flash 5 Plus + 1GB MicroSD + EZFlash 3in1
Nintendo Wii: 3.2U + 1GB SD Card + WiiKey 1.9s

After reading, and regarding all of this, I'm starting to become increasingly worried about the 4GB Sony Memory-Stick Duo I ordered from eBay express last Sunday and have not yet received...

Hello,
I have the same problem, and checked the compatibility website and my card seems to be genuine. Could there be any other reason? I have plenty space on my memory card but I am only able to get 2 games on it.

Thanks

what size memory card is it?
what make card is it?
did you get it from ebay ? if so if it was really cheap it's probably a fake. these fakes look really good as i to had trouble telling it was a fake or not.
once i bought one from a repetable retail store i have had no trouble what so ever.(see previous post's for where to get a good deal).
chances are if you use the fake info you will get a full refund.

good luck.
