hi all. is there a boot discs or is there going to be 1 coming out to play backup games? just i dont have the skills to install a mod chip.

As of now there is not a boot disc for the Wii you will need a Modchip.

Yes a reputable place to get your Wii Modded is....

They also sell Wii Modchips as well. So you can buy and pay for the install all at once.

I have a WiiD installed in mine so the price for the install and a WiiD at the site would be $75 ($35 for the Mod Install and $40 for the Modchip). It would be the same for a Wiikey if you decided to go with that Modchip.

I live in the USA so I would have no idea where you could send your Wii in the UK to get modded.

As to the best chip. You will never get everyone to agree on this issue. All I can do is give you my opinion which is I would recommend the WiiD...

It has all the features that the Wiikey offers. Plus I have read post of other Wiikey owners that said the Wiikey didn't have great support for Game Cube games.

WiiD has played every Wii Game Disc and Game Cube Game Disc that i have backed up. Plus the WiiD has an option to disable the chip. Having a disable option is not mandatory but is a nice feature to have if in the future it is needed.

I do not know which ones are reputable. Wish I could be more help.

Question for larrylje:

I am 100% sure I'm going to get my wii modded at http://www.teammodders.com/install/

Now, Are you sure this place is trusted? Do you know anybody who has gotten there wii modded there?

Also this may be a stupid question, but I have a lot of virtual console games. During the wiid install, does the wii have to be formated? I will still have all my virtual console games, game saves, etc, right?

Yes you should still have all your virtual games. You do not have to format to install a Modchip. You can contact them and ask that youself if you are worried.

I'm a moderator at 1 of teammodders sister sites and allot of those members and Moderators have had their consoles modded from them. So yes they are a trusted site.
