Do you have to use single layer discs to burn the backups? I ask because I keep making coasters and I only have dual layer available at the moment. The nest question this........if your modchip (in this case a wiikey) is installed incorrectly, will the wiikey setup disc work? I ask this because I am trying to verify that my chip is installed correctly, the setup disc works, but my backups do not seem to be. Any ideas?
btw I am using verbatim dual layer and Nero 6 to burn the game. I own the game in question, but I had to get the iso from other sources since I do not own the burner/s required for the backup.

Hmm, I will do that........I was thinking that verbatim were the standard for backups though. I do know that fuji is very good though, especially if they are the ones made in japan by taiyo yuden

I use verbatim 16x single layer disks. Apparentally verbatim is the best, but dual layer is sometimes hard to be compatible, and also a waste of a much more expensive disk.

Furthermore, dual layer is always I believe +r, and the wii responds better with -r disks.

Wow, thanks alot for that info........
You would think that would have been clearly stated in bunnys burning tut. Maybe it was, I could not find it any where though in his tut. (it was/is a very good tut though)

Can anyone else confirm this or add thier opinion?

Honestly, I don't know why people always say that the Wii tends to like -R more. From my experience, I use Sony DVD+R 8x and burn my games mostly on 2.4x and never got a bad copy.

I got 1 or 2 bad copies from burning at 4x, then I decided to burn them all at 2.4x.

Has anyone an idea about my econd question? If the wiikey setup disc is working, does that mean it was modded correctly? In other words if the chip was not installed properly would the wiikey setup disc work at all?
