Hi all. I have recently copied The pursuit of Happyness which has the latest sony across puplet lock protection installed. I copied the disc using dvdfab HD decrypter vesion 3.1.0.8 and then shrunk the file with DVD Shrink and copied it on to a disc using Nero burning rom.

When I open the disc with DVD Shrink to anaylse in case the burn was faulty, it says "error occured" cannot read from drive e" When I did some duplicate copies on dvdrw's I get the same problem even if I change the drive in use.

The discs will not open on Nero burning rom, or Nero recode which do not even recognise them. When I put on AnyDVD it recognises the discs as normal dvdr's with no protection or bogus files, as well as dvdfabHD Decrypter that reads the discs with no problem.

Why do Nero and DVD Shrink fail to open or recognise the discs and why is there a delay when I load them on my dvd player?

Am I using the best combination of programs when copying the latest copy protection technologies? Please help! Sorry for the long speech.

Posting a Nero burn log will most likely give you the asnwer you seek.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Hi all. I forgot to post the log, but it may not be necessary because I did the following:

Installed latest version of dvdfab HD decrypter 2.11.2 which replaced dvdfab HD decrypter 3.1.0.8. Opened the file as an iso image file and put it through the lastest version. Went to open image and it said "Dvd shrink encountered and error and cannot continue" Failed to read drive e"

I then compressed the original dvd video file and compressed the movie only with shrink, burnt it to disc and then opened it with no problems.

Why are Nero and shrink opening the movie only file, but not the full movie when it's burnt to disc? I had a problem with casino Royale a few months ago that would open on main movie and full disc but wouldn't play on any dvd players unless I did movie only.

What is going on? Should I put the original film through the latest version of fab decrypter and do the same tests and see how it goes? Or is there a way of taking off existing protections on a file that is stored on the hard drive?

Thanks in advance for your time and support.

Ive recently burnt it with the same program and didnt encounter any problems. Although i was burning an exact copy, dvd 9 to dvd 9. Its about a buck a disk but thats ok with me. I dont know if DVD Shrink has anything to do with it but I know you can just shrink the dvd on dvdfab...just set it to fit to a standard dvd. It will probably give similar results...you can also fit it to a standard dvd in Nero. I dont know everything about burning movies, It just dosent seem like there is a point to having DVD Shrink. I would try copying it again and burning it straight from Nero instead of using DVD Shrink...might not make any difference im just saying that it worked perfectly for me, so dvd fab is definatley capable of removing the protection.

Hi All. I recently installed the latest version of dvd fab platinum 3.1.1.6. I put pursuit of happyness through it and burned it straight to a DVD5 disc. When I tried opening with shrink and Nero it would delay on Nero but wouldn't open on shrink. I would get the message "dvd shrink encountered an error cannot read from drive e" I then went to customise on fab platinum and opened up the original dual layer Pursuit of Happyness file.

I would then get the message dvd fab has encountered an error and needs to close. When I do the same on other files I never get this message. This is the second original copy of Pursuit of happyness that I've used and had the same problems with.

There seems to be a problem with some of the files. I have been advised to use image burn before putting files to disc, but don't know what it does and where to download it from. Is this nessesary if I have the latest software on the market? How can I get around this problem? Someone please help!

All that's needed for this (excellent) movie is the awesome DVDFab HD Decrypter (the free one)..
