Help playing multiplayer with M3 DS Simply

Could someone explain how to play multiplayer with the m3 ds simply.
I want to play against a friend, we both have ds lite's , I have an m3 ds simply and he doesn't.

Some games are not compatible with Download Play (Multi-player) when using the M3 Simply or the R4DS.

here is a compatibility chart...

I went to the m3 compatibility chart and looked up 0367-Metroid Prime Hunters(U)(WRG).It says that it should run perfectly (download play and everything), but it doesn't.Any more ideas?

Do you have the M3 Simply updated with the newest firmware?

This is what the list says...

0367 Metroid Prime Hunters (U) (WRG) 1.01

Which I think means anything from firmware 1.01 and below will not work with the game. So check the firmware you are using and make sure it is updated with the newest firmware...

I think I got the latest firmware (v1.04 Final). I got the one from the link in mr_hanky's m3 ds simply guide(the one that is stickied).It has the built in cheat device, so I can play games with cheats.
