I've recently downloaded a few of the PAL versions of Singstar PS2 games. When I boot them up, the screens are cut off at the bottom, and the lyrics don't match up with the song as it plays. Am I doing something wrong when loading Swapmagic?
If you're merely complaining about the cut-off at the bottom portion of the screen, try experimenting with the Swap Magic video modes when you're prompted to choose between PAL, normal, and NTSC. If you have an NTSC PS2 and you're trying to play PAL games, I believe changing the video modes should easily remedy this problem. If changing video modes doesn't, what media are you using? It's highly doubtful bad media can distort the screen so badly since the most I've seen and heard of are distorted images, pixelation and freezes. Oh, and also, make sure your TV supports NTSC/PAL. If it doesn't display the game properly, even with changing the modes, which I think is the problem, you could try finding a PAL-NTSC convertor if you have an NTSC region PS2 console.

Blair did this work for you? Because I recently purchased a couple of singstar games online and they are PAL formatted and I have a NTSC Ps2. I have the swap magic 3.8 with the flip top, but the bottom is cut off and lyrics are not matching up with music. The only way it will load is on the NTSC video mode. So I was wondering what worked for you.
Hey guys I am almost certain you will need a converter. Some dvd players can convert the signal by running your ps2 into their inputs and then out to tv. I was lucky enough to have a video projector that takes both signals and after not getting it to work on my regular tv I tried it on th projector and the input showed it was in pal mode. pal has more vertical lines than ntsc hence the cutoff at the bottom. also after my projector converted it every thing synced perfectly. i know one DVR-1600 can convert the signal.
