Are Chip'd Wiis up next for the ban hammer?

Apparently chip'd x360's are finally getting hit with the ban hammer by M$ and I'm wondering if Wii's are next? After doing some reading I found out the x360 mods require more than just soldering a chip onto the console like the Wiikey. You have to flash the DVD firmware and install some custom one in order to get it to work and it is the modified firmware they are detecting and basing the bans off of not the chip itself. I was just wondering the validity of what i read and just how 'undetectable' the Wiikey really is. Thoughts?

wiikey doesn't install anything custom so there's nothing to detect.

its kinda the same we just dont flash we use a preflashed mod chip

No, its not the same, what the OP was saying, was xbox 360 uses a modded firmware for the xbox 360 itself. We have firmware on the chip, we do NOT modify the wii's firmware, at least not as of yet.

DraTs is right. Xbox360's are not "chipped". They flash the firmware of the DVD drive directly modifying the firmware code of the drive.

I know we didnt modified our firmware we just put some other firmware on top of it as a chip. They could scan the firmware and would not see the dvd firmware but would see the wiikey or whatever

Seems the same as flashing the dvd drive except we re route with chips
