Will cd labels mess up the disk?? like jamming etc??
i'm labeling mines but suddenly my drives gets louder and when taking it out its extrmemly hot? is their a problem? i heard the wii drive is TIGHT!

I wouldn't have placed labels on it.
Just as suggest for DVD backups it can unbalance the DVD and you can get read errors.
More then likely that is why it is louder.
I would say take them off.

oh, its impossible to take off now, and i doubt it'll disk read error, but strange part is ppl say it peels off, i'm trying it and now i have a Coaster..=( the sticky resudue is impossible to get rid of!, after peeling all content off, the residue is basically stuck on there, so how in the world will it peel off

You can buy stuff at the store to take the sticky stuff off. I duno actually what it is but I have heard others suggest using it before.
Try wetting the label first soak it a little with a damp cloth. I duno how much of the sticky stuff will be left behind doing this process but it would't hurt to try.

what kind of cd labels are they? Is it just a sticker saying the game name or is it like the original wii game labels?

neatos paper labels, on taiyo yudens printables valueline...yes printables...i o ready have a top of the line printer, yet doesnt have the printing capability of Cd's -_-" and dont want 2 printers...but the thing is i played tony hawk underground and zelda on the label for 2 hrz proformed like any otehr disk, for like 2 hrz..nothing went wrong

yupp, it prints and u take off teh sticker and place it on the disk, like an original, but most people dont recoomend it, jsut buy a printable printer that prints on cd...but i like it beause it was cheap on ebay..like 50 labels for 5 bucks and i had no trouble with it..but most do. i donno

i would not go down the route of cd labelling ziggi. for everyone who has successfully done this, there are 10 that have had problems. It was the same with psx games. if the labels are not placed on 100% correct they may as Larry said, unbalance the disc so it rocks when being read by the wii- who knows what damage this causes. All i know is that the psx got very hot when it read labelled discs. maybe it was overworking the laser?

Ill give another reason why it is not good to place paper labels on your game disc...
In order to keep the labels on the DVD they use adhesive crap.
What do you think happens to that adhesive crap when it gets warm and heats up?
It becomes tacky and the label can then move around on the top of the game media making it more out of balance.
Worse yet if the label heats up enough the edges could curl up making it possible for the label to get jammed into your Wii drive.
Believe me this is possible because it has been discussed before on this forum. From members that this has happened to when using paper labels on their DVD backup disc and other game consoles.
Your best option for labels is either a Litescribe Burner or printable hubs with a printer that prints on them.
(Don't know why I even care it isn't my Wii system that is going to be trashed if this happens)

Although pretty well determined that labels are no good I just wanted to add to this thread - don't do labels.
Makes everything look prettier but doesn't work well with the Wii. Labeled two games that successful worked. After label - no worky. Loaded, unloaded games, unplugged - nothing. Peeled labels - work fine.
Teach me not to believe the forums ;-)

HI guys
My two pence is, I use an Epson R200, it is a brilliant machine. It is also quite cheap (around £60 -£70) in the UK. It has the unique advantage of printing directly onto printable cd/dvd's and does a really good job.

i never saw the point of wasting time labelling discs or wasting ink printing on them when they are just for personal use. Does it look nicer when its spinning inside the console, no you cant see it then, does it look nicer sat inside its case with the lid closed, no you cant see it then either. So are you saying you get out all your discs, open the cases, lay them out on the floor and then gaze lovingly at the pretty designs that you have labelled/printed on them
i am guessing -NOT!! - if you do then you are a sad case lol

Lightscribe woudlnt effect this I dont think because lightscribe really has no color it just like cuts outlines of the labels too it it looks cool but not like a regular its more golden

Helps me live the lie. Visiting neighbors ask questions when they see Wii games on a Verbatim DVD-R. When in a pretty case with the pretty label - fewer questions. ;-)

I label all my backups. If not I would have two boys constantly bugging me to read what is written on each and every disc. This way they sea a picture of a cow and they know its Barnyard. I have an epson printer and ink jet printable taiyo yudens and this makes for a great combination. The backups look as good as the originals. Thank GOD for technology.

yeah if you want nice wii backups use printable cds i use them and they look and work fine, cd labels are crap and unsafe...
I use them to avoid the continuous questions from my friends about why am i using DVD-R discs!!
