I just bought a brand new Wii (was almost impossible to locate one!) and before hand ordered 2 chips...

WiiKey from Modchipcentral.com
CycloWiz v2 from Divineo.com

I have heard good about both... the only thing about the CycloWiz i don't like is that I would have to add a switch to the outside of my Wii... I am sort of anal about that, but the CycloWiz is upgradeable via software... I haven't really seen that about the Wiikey...

I don't want to install anything until I hear some biased reviews by those who have installed them... I know this has been discussed before, but my hands are shaking ready to install... I think I just need to be thrown into a direction.

Thanks...

Both are upgradeable Via DVD.

I haven't used either of the chips but with what i have read I would choose the Wiikey over the CycloWiz v2.

I think the CycloWiz is up to V3 which most side by side comparison are done with CycloWiz v3 so I have no idea what the CycloWiz v2 even offers. I do know both are upgradeable via DVD

I've purchased a used Wii with a mod chip already installed and have no idea what kind. My question is probably dumb, but I'll nevertheless ask - what exactly is the benefit of being upgradeable? Or put another way, if the chip isn't upgradeable what will that eventually mean?

I think were I'm confused is I'm thinking of how backups for DVD movies work and it seems like when the movie companies change something they change the DVD itself so the ripping software won't work. But, updates to the computer programs like DVDFabDecrypter come out and you can rip the movie.

With the games and mod chips, is what could potentially happen that a game will come out that after dumped with rawdump 2.0 and burned with Nero still won't work because the chip won't recogize the backed-up game because they changed something the the mod chip can't recognize? Thus, making an upgrade to the mod chip a pretty important option?

Hope the above makes sense?
