I'm not asking about which media is the best to use.
I do not currently have Taiyo Yuden or Verbitram(sp?) available to me.
This question is to see if anyone has used Sony DVD-R's with high success rate? Dvd info says it's Sony 16D1. Google tells me they're high quality DVDs, BUT I was curious on other people's findings.
If it's of any use I'm using a wiikey. :)
Also, from what I can tell, Verbitram DVD-RW is the way to go for RW. Am I wrong in that assumption?
I am a TY and Verbatim advocate, there is 0 logical reason to buy any other media besides them, especially since thse tier 1 media cost the same as crap media if you know where to go (SMS or meritline). DO NOT use RW media with any console, I can pretty much gurantee no matter the manufacturer the backups WILL NOT work. Stick with -R, or +R if you can booktype to DVD-ROM.
Eh, I do not currently have the wii. It's being shipped back to me from a modder, as my solder skills are pretty lacking.
I suppose I should have indicated that earlier. I have 25 Sony DVD-Rs, with no use other than Wii atm. Instead of buying another bundle of DVDs I was hoping to use my Sony ones.
I am shying away from RWs though, as you make it clear that they are pretty much worthless. :P I had hoped to be able to just keep one "gamedisc" and have all the iso's on my computer, but if it's just going to cause problems it's not worth it.
I honestly dont think you will encounter issues. As long as you stick with 2nd tier media or better, you should be fine. Now, if you said you were using Imation/Memorex....then I would tell you something different :P
