Need help with your settings in DC++?

You need help with anything that has to do with DC++. How to put a new working hublist and use it? Need a client that works in all hubs? Need a special client?

Please post your questions here and I will answer anything.

By the bottom of this page -> DC++ Hublist Help <- You can find instructions on how to change hublist in your client.

And here some popular clients -> DC++ Popular Clients <- for you.

Please feel free to ask any questions, Im happy to help.

I can connect & download from at least 99% of the participants. I am not using a router. There are only 2 that I have encountered that can upload from me but I can't download from them. It will say connecting & then connection timeout. Thanks.

I've been using DC++ for a couple weeks without any problems, but yesterday i turned it on and it said:

[10:14] TLS disabled, failed to generate certificate: The system cannot find the file specified.
[10:14] Failed to load certificate file
[10:14] File list refresh initiated
[10:14] File list refresh finished
[10:14] Error creating magnet registry key

I then continued to try and log on to my hub and it gave me the following error message:

*** Connecting to UDUBODCPP.NO-IP.ORG...
*** A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

I have never run into this before but I have been trying different things on other threads and nothing seems to work. some assitance would be appreciated! Thanks

Hello.

I can help you If you tell me what version of dc++ you are using

Remember that the last stable clients to use are 0.691 and 0.674 so if you are not using one of those I strongly suggest that you change right away.

The most common reason for:
* A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond..."

is simply that the hub is not online. At least that is the message that you would get if the hub is offline.

The TLS certificate is a certificate that allows encrypted transfers if you have another user with certificate. They are not used normally and its a relatively new addition in the dc++ client.
Making sure that its not "ticed in" anywhere that you use TLS is probably also a good idea.

Please remember to give more details such as the client version and if you recently made any changes in your configuration or on your computer etc is also important.

Have fun :)

offshore7 you said:

Note that 0.672 is an old client. It will most surely have connection problems with some newer clients.

You can change client but keep your favorite hubs by copying the Favorites.xml file located in the settings folder in your clients folder.

Simply copy it to the new clients settings folder.

I started to work with dc++ 0.702 version, but the first what i can see is this:

[01:47] Generated new TLS certificate
[01:47] Failed to load certificate file
[01:47] File list refresh initiated
[01:47] File list refresh finished
[01:47] Error creating magnet registry key

Hello

The dc++ versions over 0.691 are all unstable, like 0.701 or 0.702.

Use only 0.691 and 0.674

Good luck :)

BTW nice hublist on http://www.hublist.se check it out.
