How can I edit movies?

I just copied a bunch of old home video onto a dvd with a VHS to DVD home system. I can view the dvd's on any system but want to edit and cut and paste different scenes together. I have tried using Shrink and Decryptor but it does not want to work. I have also tried DVD Fab. What can I use to copy the movies onto my pc and do simple editing--nothing fancy.

Are you getting an error message when trying to rip the dvd?

I am able to watch the videos just fine. The error I got way cyclic redundancy check in DVD Shrink and Parameter incorrect in DVD decryptor.

I've run into that with DVD disks from a standalone.There is some sort of protection on the disk.



DVDFabDecrypter
Insert disk, run program, select 'Main Movie'
http://209.172.35.173/download/DVDFabHDDecrypter3108.exe

Failing that 'AnyDVD'
