For people who are having issues with Raw Dump, there is alternatives to backing up your games; even if you are not here is the way to do it quicker and easier.
I found this site recently which is kick A$$ by the way! I found this site looking for a way to backup my wii and gamecube games, because my son he is 8 years old and is horrible about putting there games in there cases...... I have lost so much money to scratched discs and the ones that are left I wanted a way to back up and put the original up and give my son the backup copy to use. I seen the tut. on Wii and gamecube games backup...... So I went out and bought the LG 8164B. I got it installed it and got Raw dump out only to find an overflow error.
So I could not get it to work so I decided to try something else.
For people who can't get Raw dump to work you can do this.....
Alcohol 120 % makes perfect backup copies. I backuped all my games that were scratched including the ones I thought would not read and made perfect backups!
SO if anyone is having trouble with Raw dump try Alcohol 120%. Not to mention it takes around 7 min to backup a gamecube Game and about 15 min for a WII game. Not 2.5 hours like it does with Raw dump.
So I just thought everyone should know there is alternatives to using software you use to backup your games......
I hope this has helped you out for all those people who are having issues with using Raw Dump.

Also forgot to note that after backing up my games I use Alcohol to burn them instead of using Nero.

No, it doesnt work. If it did, someone would have mentioned that by now, yes, alcohol will pick up the correct size of the disc and everything, however, all you get when you start is "read error 0" "read error 1" and so on, if you tell it to skip errors.
I didnt feel at first this thread needed any other answer than my original "No" but apparentally, it did.

maybe he is backing up a backup with Alcohol 120%
that would probably work seeing as imgburn can
i might try one see what it does

It does work for me, I am not using the newest version; I can't tell you how to use it cause of the site rules I read about telling how to use it.
But it does work for me, why would I waste my time here telling lies if it did not work.
Version I am using of Alcohol 120% is 1.9.6 build 4719
I have backed up 3 wii games from the original and all my gamecube games that were scratched and played with each game and did not have a glitch nor load time issues.
This is just like when Raw dump does not work for everyone, so since one person tried it how about anyone else besides Drast and spawn?
Spawn send me settings you are using and I will see if it's the same I am using.

frankly, because you are lying. This entire forum is about telling people what settings to use. You are flat out lying, this thread will be reported, and closed. Alcohol 120% does NOT work. It does NOT work for you, nor anyone else.
If it did, it would be publically known, and every thread about it, is being said NO it does not work. You are just one who enjoys feeding false information to the masses only to frustrate them.

Wizard your post is like going to a NASA forum and making a post that says,

Trust me noob, if you could simply toss a disc in and make a backup with Alcohol, then someone on this forum would have posted this months ago. Your full of it!

it does sound suspicous that no one has noticed it and the fact that it only takes a matter of minutes while anothe software takes 2 hours plus......i don't really know, but i don't really believe it either since the settings aren't posted

If you read above, we already tried that. I already before my original response of "no" had already tried in the LG drive, in all the possible settings. No, it does not work in any drive, no it does not work in the LG drive. Yes, alcohol will pick up the correct size of the dvd, but will not do anything further. No, Alcohol 120% will NOT work. I tried in the older version i had, then before anything, i got the newest version, said I tried in the newest version, and he, as in all trolls who do this stuff, said "well im not using that version" in order to send people in the forum on a wild goose chase to try every version they can, so that he can say "well you cant prove me wrong unless you are using such and such on a rainy day in February!"
Bottom line, hes a newbie, meaning he just signed up, he stated something as fact, which has been disproven many times. Now he is not even responding. It was a troll account, troll thread, alcohol does NOT work. End of discussion.

KI am not a troll, I also just found out that it only makes backups of backups, orignal games only work for raw dump and backups of backups work with alcohol.
Sorry I mis typed my last post on here. I am not bullshitting around wth man. Yes I am new but I am not trolling or making false statements.
Just put a backup into alcohol and read and burn.

Well, a backup of a backup is another story. Theres no reason it shouldnt work, however the topic implied that it was a backup of the original game, and that it can be used instead of rawdump. No, in this case you still need to make a backup of the original, before you can use this. Ok, maybe you were not a troll, however the original information was still false.

Please do, because at this point we will only have a bunch of people come in, read the first post and nothing after, and then talk about how how they cant get it to work, and ask everyone else to give them a step by step, instead of reading. Basically, it is a thread destined to be spammed by people who refuse to read.
