Hi. I have some NTFS .mpg's that I want to burn to a DVD. It's 2 files, each half of one movie. I have successfully converted avi and burned it to a dvd, but when I open TMPGEnc Plus, TMPG DVD Author, or Nero and load my movie, it freezes or tells me that file is unsupported. Could anyone tell me how to either A)re-encode my mpg's to dvd standard mpeg's, or B)just encode them to .vob files that are dvd standards. Thanks for any help.

If your MPEG files are not DVD compliant, they cannot be converted to VOBs (and wouldn't work if they were).

Download the program MPEG Properties and take a look at the file's characteristics:

Ensure that your video is either 720 x 480, 704 x 480, 352 x 480, 352 x 240 (MPEG2) or 352 x 240 (MPEG1). framerate should be 29.97fps, and audio should be either MP2, PCM, or AC3.
